Data Center moves underground?

When choosing a data center to store your data security is one of the main concerns. At this location you can be sure you data will be 100% safe as it is not only secured with the best technology there is but also is physically impossible to speak into, as it is – underground.

Iron Mountain Data Center is location just an hour outside of Pittsburgh in a former limestone mine. Racks of servers are lined up across a 145-acre facility that is 220 feet underground. And as bizarre as it may sound to put a data center downstairs, it actually makes a lot of sense. For one, underground naturally keeps the temperature cool (which is one of the main concern for any data center). Secondly, it does as a sort of “bunker” that provides great marketing opportunities for government agencies, financial institutions, healthcare providers and other high compliance required companies.
